"India's agricultural knowledge is fragmented, undocumented, and disappearing. One FPO · One Plant exists to make it permanent."
This is not a data collection exercise. It is a programme to turn farmer producer organisations into lasting knowledge institutions.
THE DESIGN
Three principles.
One permanent outcome.
01
Assignment
Each FPO in the ARCORA network is paired with one crop species — endemic or commercially significant to their region. One organisation. One plant. Permanent responsibility.
02
Documentation
Using ARCORA's diagnostic infrastructure, the FPO builds the most complete disease, growth, and treatment database for that crop — contributed through real field observations.
03
Permanence
The knowledge becomes a permanent public record, attributed to that FPO. Not a report. Not a dataset. A lasting institution of agricultural knowledge.
WHY IT MATTERS
India grows everything.
Documents almost nothing.
200,000+
Crop varieties grown in India
documented by fewer than 2% of FPOs
60%
Agricultural knowledge lost
when farmers retire without documentation
15+
FPOs already in network
via ARCORA deployment in Karnataka
BUILT ON ARCORA
The same network.
A deeper mission.
One FPO · One Plant is not a separate programme. It is a natural extension of the ARCORA deployment already live in Karnataka — using the same 15+ FPOs, the same field infrastructure, and the same diagnostic tools, now directed at permanent documentation.
Every diagnosis submitted through ARCORA contributes to the assigned crop's knowledge base. Farmers who use ARCORA don't just solve a problem today. They build a record that outlasts them.
